HIRE PERIOD
Daily: Vehicles can be rented in 24 hour blocks at collection times of your choosing inline with our opening hours. Vehicle being returned on Saturday must be checked in by 11am.
Weekend: Collect from 4pm Friday, subject to availability (or Saturday morning) and return for 8.30am Monday.
RATES
The current rates shown can change without notification and are subject to VAT at the standard rate.
FUEL & ADBLU
The vehicles start the hire on minimum fuel and you return with the same. Any vehicles that require Adblu will be charged a supplementary charge of £2 for 7-14 day hires or £4 for 15+ day hires.
PAYMENT
We require full hire payment when booking plus an additional refundable deposit. We only accept payment by credit or debit card.
DEPOSIT
An additional refundable deposit is also taken. This will be used towards extra charges such as fuel, loss of parts, late return, damage by misuse, theft or insurance claims. The deposit taken is £250.
Recovery vehicles have a higher deposit which is available on request.
MILEAGE ALLOWANCE
The hire rates are calculated to include a mileage allowance of up to 300 miles per day and 1800 miles per week.
INSURANCE
Insurance for one driver is included in our rental rates. Charges apply for additional drivers. Details for all drivers need to be supplied before cover is approved.
Goods in Transit are not covered. You are liable for loss of use charges should you return our vehicle in a condition in which it cannot be used.
In the event of accident damage, the following excess applies;
- £1,000 for cars with up to five seats and commercial vehicles up to 3.5 ton gross
- £1,500 for MPV/Minibuses and vehicles over 3.5 ton gross
In the event of criminal damage and /or theft, the following excess applies;
- £1,500 on all vehicles
An Excess Reducer is available, please ask for details.
We may not be able to insure you under our normal terms if you have certain driving convictions.
You are not covered for damage to, or caused by, the overhead section of the vehicle.
In the event of an accident, the onboard report form must be completed.
In the event of theft, a Crime Reference number from the Police must be obtained.
You must also make yourself available to complete a Theft Report Form and return the vehicle keys to us. Failure to do so will leave you completely liable for the value of the vehicle and all associated costs.
Customers may also arrange their own insurance. It must be fully comprehensive cover and we require to see the policy or cover note and be advised of the current excess amount.
DRIVER LICENCES
A current driving licence (not provisional) must be produced by the driver at the time of hiring. They will need to show the plastic photocard or Photo I.D. must be produced if they have the old style paper licence. The driver must have passed their driving test over two year ago. Whichever licence they have they will also need to confirm if they have a clean licence or any points/convictions.
AGE LIMITS
For standard insurance terms, drivers must be aged between 25 and 69. It may be possible to insure younger and / or older drivers. Contact us for further details
EXTENSION OF HIRE
If you require to extend the hire you must inform our rental office immediately to ensure that adequate insurance cover is effected.
CANCELLATION
We will in most cases allow our customers to cancel a booking without making a charge. However, this is not always possible on our more specialist vehicles such as MPVs, Minibuses, Tippers, HGVs and Recovery Trucks. Please ask for more details on out cancellation policy when booking
EUROPEAN HIRE
We are pleased to offer this service and our staff will quote for your specific requirements on request.
LONG TERM RENTAL
If you require a vehicle for a longer period of hire, discount rates may apply. Full details are available on request.
OPERATOR’S LICENCE
Hirers renting the 7.5 tonne commercials in connection with a trade or profession must hold a current operator’s licence. The vehicles are liable to be impounded and the driver/hirer prosecuted if a licence is not held. This is not required for people moving house or personal effects.
D.O.E. REGULATIONS
Goods vehicles must not be overloaded and it is the hirers responsibility to ensure that it does not occur. Heavy fines can be imposed by the Department of the Environment
VEHICLE INSPECTION & CONDITION
All vehicles are fully checked before each hire and they are serviced in our own workshops. If the vehicle has any problems during your hire there is a 24 hour back up service
TYRES
The company will not accept responsibility for damage to tyre side walls and wheels caused by vehicles hitting kerbs and obstructions.
ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT
Some of our vehicles are available with either roof racks and / or tow bars . We can also supply a porters trolley and / or load securing straps. Please enquire when booking your vehicle for rates and availability.
NON SMOKING
All rental vehicles are strictly non smoking. Deposits will be withheld if there is any evidence of this condition being broken.
ANIMALS
In order to satisfy the majority of our customers, we regret that we are unable to allow animals or pets to be carried in our vehicles at any time.
TRADE SALES
We have a range of ex-rental cars and commercial vehicles for sale at trade value. Full inspections and test drives welcome.
VALETING
Although we do not expect our customers to clean the hire vehicle before returning, we do ask that they respect both the vehicle and the fact that someone else will be using it after them.
We do reserve the right to make charges should we feel that the condition the vehicle has been returned in needs more time, and products, required than would be expected. The charge for this is £50.00 plus VAT.
If the vehicle is returned in such a condition that we feel it has been severely neglected we will charge £100.00 plus VAT. Animals are not allowed to be carried in our vehicles and smoking is strictly prohibited.
Should either of these rules be ignored and there is sufficient evidence to this effect, a charge of £120.00 plus VAT will be applied, plus two additional hire days whilst the vehicle is being worked on.
